Hi, I'm Matt! I've dedicated my life to music and teaching (having taught 1,000+ students). I'm a professional pianist, composer, professor, and published music author who is passionate about helping people of all ages and experience levels discover their love of music and their unique “piano personality.”
For over 15 years, I’ve earned many national and international awards, worked with Grammy, Tony, Emmy, and Oscar-winning artists, wrote best-selling music books, and had my music featured in films, television series, video games, podcasts, and viral videos totaling over 75 million views.
As a music professor and educator, I’ve taught at several universities in multiple states, presented at numerous international conferences spanning several countries, and mentored countless students who went on to work in Broadway shows, national tours, movies, television, on cruise ships, with Disney, and beyond. So, Who Am I?
Hi, I'm Matt! I'm an award-winning professional pianist, composer, music professor, and author with 15+ years of experience mentoring students and being a global musical artist.
I’ve taught 1,000+ students — many of whom have gone on to work on Broadway, national tours, movies, TV, video games, and even with Disney and Universal. My music has been heard on Netflix, Hulu, Apple, PBS, Fox, Amazon, and in projects that have reached a total of over 75 million viral video views.
I also recently launched my "Matt Hodge Music" YouTube Channel dedicated to helping piano players globally — a channel that has earned over 24,000 subscribers and over one million views since its debut in April 2025.
Throughout my career, I’ve received numerous prestigious awards, performed on hundreds of stages, taught at several universities, published multiple music books, judged many global music competitions, ranked as a "Top 10 Musician" in various international music contests, presented at several arts conferences worldwide, and served music clients in all 50 states and over 30 countries spanning six continents.
I’ve worked with Grammy, Emmy, Tony, Golden Globe, and Oscar winners — but my greatest joy is working with students!
I hold three music degrees: a B.A. and M.A. from Campbellsville University and an M.F.A. from Vermont College of Fine Arts, plus a certified Music Business Specialization Certificate from Berklee College of Music.
Above all, I’m passionate about inspiring others to discover the true joy of playing piano and making music.
